Overview
The Megger MIT1025/2 Advanced 10kV HV Insulation Resistance Tester is part of Megger’s Advanced range designed to meet the rigorous demands of industrial, utility, and maintenance environments. It is ideal for testing transformers, switchgear, motors, generators, bushings, and high-voltage cables.
With selectable test voltages of 500V, 1000V, 2500V, 5000V, and 10,000V, the MIT1025/2 can measure insulation resistance from 10kΩ to 20TΩ, with high accuracy and stability even in electrically noisy environments. It supports Polarisation Index (PI), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), Dielectric Discharge (DD), Stepped Voltage (SV), and Ramp Test, which provide deep insights into insulation condition and ageing. The included guard terminal reduces surface leakage currents, thus improving measurement accuracy in contaminated or humid conditions.
The MIT1025/2 features a dedicated voltmeter capable of measuring AC and DC voltages from 30V to 660V, as well as capacitance measurement from 10nF to 25µF and leakage current measurement from 0.01nA to 6 mA. The MIT1025/2 performs reliably in high-interference environments like substations and industrial plants, with noise rejection of up to 3mA. A real-time clock and onboard memory allow users to store time/date-stamped results, which can then be downloaded via USB to a PC for reporting and compliance documentation using Megger’s PowerDB Lite software.
Featuring a large, high-contrast backlit display, readings remain readable on the MIT1025/2 even in bright sunlight or low-light conditions. Plus, an intuitive interface with dual rotary switches and a graphical quick-start guide printed inside the lid makes it easy for first-time users. The MIT10025/2 is powered by a long-lasting lithium-ion rechargeable battery that provides extended testing time and can be rapidly recharged in under 2.5 hours. Importantly, the unit can also operate directly from AC mains power, even if the battery is completely depleted, ensuring uninterrupted testing in the field.
The MIT1025/2 carries a CAT IV 600V safety rating, is certified for operation at altitudes up to 3000 metres and comes in a rugged case that includes a tough outer shell and a fire-retardant inner case, with an IP65 rating (lid closed) protecting it against dust and moisture ingress. The removable lids with Velcro-on pouches keep accessories secure and accessible and improve access to terminals during testing. Plus, a five-tier voltage warning system alerts users to hazardous conditions, and automatic capacitive discharge ensures safe handling post-test.
Included with the MIT1025/2 are two sets of 3-metre test leads (one with medium clips and one with large clips rated for 10 kV), a power lead, a screened USB cable, a quick-start guide, and a calibration certificate.
